  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp sugar For the dough
  • 1 tsp baking powder For leavening
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk Can use any milk of choice
  • 1 tbsp melted butter To keep crumb tender
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract For flavor
  • Cooking spray Cooking spray For air fryer basket
Optional Coating
  • 1/4 cup cinnamon sugar Optional for coating

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  3. Pour in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Stir until just combined; the dough should be soft and shaggy.
  4. Lightly flour a work surface and roll the dough into a rectangle with even thickness.
  5. Cut the rectangle into 1/2 inch wide sticks.
Cooking
  1. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
  2. Arrange the donut sticks in a single layer in the basket, ensuring they have space between them.
  3. Air fry for 6–8 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown.
  4. If desired, toss the warm donut sticks in cinnamon sugar before serving.

Notes

These donut sticks are best enjoyed warm. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge and reheat in the air fryer.
