Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheets with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder.
- Gradually add the dry mixture into the creamed mixture, blending until just incorporated.
- Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the lined baking sheets, leaving 2 inches between each cookie.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are set but the centers remain soft.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.
Notes
For best results, allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet before transferring to prevent breaking. These brookies can be served warm, optionally with ice cream or chocolate sauce.
