Ingredients

For the Banana Chips
  • 2 pieces firm, ripe bananas, peeled and sliced into thin rounds Choose bananas that are ripe but not overly soft.
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil or melted butter Coconut oil adds richness, but butter can be used as a substitute.
For the Cinnamon-Sugar Mixture
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar or coconut sugar Coconut sugar can deepen the flavor.
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon Consider adding nutmeg or vanilla for extra flavor.

Method

Preparation
  1. Slice the bananas into even, thin discs about 1/8 inch thick for uniform cooking.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the sugar and ground cinnamon until well mixed.
  3. In a separate bowl, toss the banana slices in coconut oil or melted butter.
  4. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the slices and gently turn to coat evenly.
Cooking
  1. Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for about 3–5 minutes.
  2. Place the banana slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket without overlapping.
  3. Air-fry the banana rounds for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through for even crisping.
  4. Transfer the chips to a wire rack to cool completely. They will crisp up more as they cool.
Serving
  1. Enjoy the banana chips immediately or store them in an airtight container for later snacking.

Notes

These chips store well and can last up to a week in an airtight container at room temperature. Avoid refrigeration to prevent chewiness. Consider experimenting with different sugars or spices for variations.
