Preparation
- Slice the bananas into even, thin discs about 1/8 inch thick for uniform cooking.
- In a small bowl, combine the sugar and ground cinnamon until well mixed.
- In a separate bowl, toss the banana slices in coconut oil or melted butter.
- Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the slices and gently turn to coat evenly.
Cooking
- Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for about 3–5 minutes.
- Place the banana slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket without overlapping.
- Air-fry the banana rounds for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through for even crisping.
- Transfer the chips to a wire rack to cool completely. They will crisp up more as they cool.
Serving
- Enjoy the banana chips immediately or store them in an airtight container for later snacking.
Notes
These chips store well and can last up to a week in an airtight container at room temperature. Avoid refrigeration to prevent chewiness. Consider experimenting with different sugars or spices for variations.
