Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound carrots, peeled and cut into sticks or rounds Aim for consistent size for even cooking.
  • 2 tablespoons honey Raw local honey preferred.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika Optional for a smoky flavor.
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme or rosemary, finely chopped Optional for added flavor.

Method

Preparation
  1. Cut the carrots into sticks about 3 inches long and ½ inch thick or cut them into rounds for even cooking.
  2. In a mixing bowl, toss the carrots with olive oil, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika (if using), and garlic powder until well coated.
Air Frying
  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3–5 minutes.
  2. Arrange the carrots in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for 10 minutes, shaking the basket or flipping with tongs halfway through.
  3. Continue air frying for another 5–7 minutes until the carrots are tender and have browned edges. If desired, add 2–3 more minutes for extra crispiness.
Glazing
  1. While the carrots are cooking, warm the honey in a small bowl and stir in thyme or rosemary if using.
  2. Once the carrots are cooked, drizzle the warm honey over them and toss gently to coat.
Optional Re-Crisping
  1. If the carrots aren’t crispy enough after glazing, air fry for 1–2 minutes more, watching carefully to prevent burning.

Notes

For best texture, don’t overcrowd the basket. Store any leftovers in the fridge and reheat in the air fryer for best results.
