For the Glaze
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar For sweetening the glaze.
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup To flavor the glaze.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking pan by greasing it.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour and baking powder. Set aside.
  3. In another bowl, cream together softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs, followed by the maple syrup and milk. Mix until well combined.
  5. Gradually fold in the dry ingredients until just combined, being careful not to over-mix.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  2. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  3. Allow the bars to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Glazing
  1. In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar and maple syrup for the glaze.
  2. Once the bars have cooled, drizzle the glaze over the top.

Notes

Store the bars in an airtight container for optimal freshness, ideally enjoying within a few days. For longer storage, freeze and reheat as needed.
