Quick Whole Wheat Cinnamon Rolls

These quick cinnamon rolls made with whole wheat flour and honey are easy to prepare in just one bowl, baked without yeast for a tender, warm treat perfect for breakfast.

Ingredients
  

Dough Ingredients
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup honey For sweetness
  • 1 cup milk or almond milk Either will work
  • 2 tbsp melted coconut oil For tenderness
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup raisins (optional) Add for sweetness and texture

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix the whole wheat flour, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  3. Add the honey, milk (or almond milk), and melted coconut oil. Stir until a cohesive, slightly tacky dough forms.
  4. Lightly flour your work surface and roll the dough into a rectangle, keeping an even thickness.
  5. Sprinkle the cinnamon evenly over the surface and add the raisins if desired.
  6. Roll the dough tightly into a log starting from one long edge.
  7. Slice the rolled dough into 8 equal pieces.
  8. Place the rolls cut-side up in a greased baking dish, leaving space between each piece.
Baking
  1. Bake for 20–25 minutes until the tops are golden and the rolls are set.

Notes

Store cooled rolls in a covered container at room temperature to keep fresh. If needed, refrigerate or rewarm gently when serving.
