  • 1 teaspoon matcha powder Finely ground green tea
  • 1 cup warm milk (dairy or non-dairy) Can use any type of milk as per preference
  • to taste none Sweetener (sugar, honey, or syrup) Adjust according to preference
  • ice none Ice (if you prefer a chilled version) Use if serving cold

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Heat the milk in a small saucepan over medium heat until warm but not boiling. For an iced version, you can skip this step.
  2. Sift the matcha powder in a separate bowl to remove any clumps.
  3. Whisk in a couple of tablespoons of the warm milk into the matcha powder to form a thick paste.
  4. Gradually stir in the remaining warm milk and whisk until fully combined and frothy.
  5. If making an iced version, fill a glass with ice before pouring in the matcha mixture.
  6. Add sweetener to taste and stir well to incorporate.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

Use a fine-mesh sieve for sifting matcha for smoother texture. A bamboo whisk can help achieve a frothy finish.
